2019 Crops

I thought it would be a good time to let you know all the goodies we'll be planting (or already have) for this year. We've added some good stuff! We've got ginger and turmeric in the grow room!!! I love the box design. We also have a few types of alliums, including onions, cipollini, scallions, shallots, leeks, and garlic. I can't wait to start cooking with these fresh ingredients! We have lots of delicious lettuces planted. We're hoping to have a red and green lettuce blend available almost year-round! Greens, including spinach, arugula, chard, kale, mustard, collards, etc., are all growing right now and will hopefully be available in late April. We've planted hakurei turnips (those white radish looking things) and kohlrabi. We had a great response to those once people tried them. We have cherry belle and french breakfast radishes growing. We have the well loved Ground Cherries started, and they're doing great. We should have plenty this year. We're definitely doing the "normal stuff" like tomatoes, eggplant, squash, peppers, peas, beans, carrots, beets...etc. We're planting okra again, as well as celery. We're not doing as many herbs, but we have 3 types of basil (genovese, thai, and cinnamon), dill, parsley, and cilantro started. Fennel, broccoli, bok choy, and chinese cabbage are also expected this spring as long as I can keep the flea beetles off of them. We're also going to plant jerusalem artichokes. I've never had it, but I've heard it's a delicious low carb alternative to potatoes. Last year, I only had enough strawberries for my own family. We planted about 6x what we had last year, so hopefully we'll have enough for the market!

Hope this gets you excited for the market! We'll be at the Oxford and West Chester markets on Saturday and the Fairfield market on Wednesdays. We also sell from our farm on Oxford Milford Rd.
